LA County offers various services to support workers affected by job disruptions due to emergencies. These resources are designed to provide immediate and practical assistance for workers facing layoffs, seeking new training opportunities, or navigating essential benefits.

AJCC Locations and Services

Los Angeles County hosts 18 America’s Job Centers of California (AJCCs) within the region. These centers provide direct services, including job placement and training support, for those impacted by wildfires.

Vital Records Support

Relief Accommodations

Hotel properties that are offering relief accommodations for those displaced by the ongoing wildfires.

211 LA

211 LA is partnering with Airbnb.org, American Express, and Hilton to coordinate the distribution of emergency housing for people displaced by wildfires.

Lyft Up Disaster Response Program

Lyft Up Disaster Response program to provide access to free and discounted rides to help those in the affected area travel to and from shelters with critical resources. Riders in need can use the code CAFIRERELIEF25, valid for 2 rides up to $25 each ($50 total) for 2,000 riders from now until 1/15 at 11:59 p.m.

Uber

Residents in Los Angeles County who’ve been ordered to vacate their homes can get a credit from Uber to get to an evacuation site. The $40 will only be valid for trips to an active shelter and by using the code WILDFIRE25.

Free Emergency Childcare

Free child care for children of first responders, essential workers and families who have been displaced, evacuated or who have otherwise experienced loss at the Y.

GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund

To help restaurants recover in times of critical need, DoorDash has partnered with Hello Alice to create the Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund.

TMC Community Capital - LA Wildfire Relief Fund

Offer immediate relief in the form of $5,000 grants to entrepreneurs whose livelihoods have been impacted.

LA Region Small Business and Worker Fund

Small Businesses and nonprofits with revenue of up to $6 million and less than 100 employees may be eligible to receive cash assistance grants from $2,000 to $25,000 depending on disaster impact.

COMMUNICATION

Spectrum

Charter Communications has unlocked over 35,000 Spectrum WiFi access points across Southern California. These are available to everyone, regardless of whether they are Spectrum customers.

Planet Fitness

The fitness chain is offering free access to their facilities in Los Angeles County until January 15. This includes the use of showers and WiFi, providing essential services to those displaced by the fires.

T-Mobile

Now through Wednesday, Jan. 15, T-Mobile is offering unlimited talk, text and data for T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile and Assurance Wireless customers who do not have these services as part of their current plan. These services are available to customers in Altadena, La Cañada Flintridge, Los Angeles, Palisades, Pasadena and Sierra Madre.

AT&T

The telecommunications company announced it is offering wildfire areas unlimited data, talk and text through Feb. 6. Visit their official site for a list of valid zip codes.

Verizon

The company has waived call, text, and data charges for customers in the hardest-hit areas until Jan. 18. Additionally, Verizon has deployed free WiFi and charging stations at select locations. Verizon

Los Angeles County ACCESS Center operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week as the entry point for mental health services in Los Angeles County. The center can be reached at 1-800-854-7771.

988 Suicide and Crisis hotline

The 988 Suicide and Crisis hotline can be reached by calling or texting 988.

Jewish Federation Los Angeles

The Jewish Federation Los Angeles is offering mental health services, warm meals, shelter and space for displaced individuals, families and institutions.

Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health

The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Resources has compiled a list of mental health resources to aid people affected by the wildfires.
