Southern California has invested $12 billion over the past 10 years to lower demand, expanding the region’s storage network and placing into reserve water supplies in wet years. In order to maintain that high level of reliability, Metropolitan needs to adapt and evolve the changing conditions exacerbated by drought, climate change and infrastructure by being prepared to make the crucial investments needed to meet tomorrow’s water needs.
