Halé Behzadi Concludes Term as LAEDC Board Chair, Reflects on Achievements and Future Prospects

**Los Angeles, CA** – July 9, 2024 – As Halé Behzadi’s term as Board Chair for the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) draws to a close, she expresses deep gratitude and optimism for the future of the region. “This past year has been an incredible journey of learning and growth,” said Behzadi. “I’ve gained deep insights into the complex issues shaping Los Angeles County’s economic landscape and the LAEDC’s role in leading and implementing innovative solutions to address them.”
At the final Board of Governors meeting for this fiscal year, Behzadi introduced Los Angeles Mayor, Karen Bass, for an engaging fireside chat where Mayor Bass shared her vision for LA’s future. The meeting also featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on the economic impact of arts and culture in Los Angeles, moderated by LAEDC CEO Stephen Cheung. Local arts leaders highlighted the vital role creative industries play in the economy and community vibrancy.
Behzadi expressed confidence in the new leadership team taking the helm. “I’m delighted to hand over the reins to an exceptional leader and team. Ron Frierson will be stepping in as the new Chair, with Efrain Escobedo and Laurie Sewell serving as Vice Chairs. Their combined experience and dedication will bring fresh perspectives and continued momentum to our important work.”
